Marshall is a small Midwestern friendly community with a
population of about 7,000, located in south central
Michigan, 10 miles east of Battle Creek, where I-94 meets
I-69. Our historical roots take us back to the early 1800s
when our town was founded in 1830 as a possible state
capitol. We have one of the largest National Historic
Landmark Districts in the nation, including over 850 homes
and businesses. Visitors from all parts of the country come
to our annual Historical Home Tour in September, featuring
the restored and preserved Victorian homes and the
turn-of-the-century architecture evident throughout the
downtown area. They are greeted at the “fountain circle” by
Brooks Memorial Fountain, an impressive Greek Revival
structure which includes an impressive colored light display
every evening, the Honolulu House--now an historical museum,
the National House--the oldest operating inn in Michigan,
and our main street to the east, housing our many antique
and gift shops. We are proud to be known as one of the most
beautiful cities in Michigan. |

The
Serenity
Prayer
God, grant me the Serenity to
accept the things I cannot change,
The Courage to change the things
I can,
And the Wisdom to know the
difference.
